Rensselaer's Energy, Environment, and Economics Discussion Series:
Future Energy Systems
HARTFORD, CONN – Rensselaer’s Hartford Campus is holding the third session of its Energy, Environment, and Economics Discussion Series on December 4, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Special guest, Dr. Jian Sun, Professor, Department of Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and Director of the New York State Center for Future Energy Systems, will give a presentation on the topic of “Future Energy Systems.”
Rensselaer at Hartford participated in the 22nd World Energy Congress 2013, held October 13-17 in Daegu, Korea. Related to this event, Rensselaer’s Hartford Campus has hosted a continuing discussion series exploring pertinent topics. The purpose of this series is to provide a forum for experts, corporate leaders, community participants, faculty, and students to engage in intellectual dialogues pertaining to today's global energy and environmental challenges.
The Discussion Series is free and open to all. Food and beverages are provided at each session. David L. Rainey, Ph.D., Acting Dean, Rensselaer at Hartford, will give insights and perspectives during the introduction at the event. In addition, participants in the Discussion Series are encouraged to view the free on-demand archived webinar on the topic, “World Energy Congress, 2013” featuring James Stodder, Ph.D., Professor of Practice, Rensselaer at Hartford. Dr. Stodder attended the World Energy Congress in October and provides a detailed review of his participation in the Congress.
